BRAG HAMPTON COURT PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Aim of this project was to put together an allotment show garden for RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2025, under the name of BRAG. The objectives were to spread awareness of the BRAG mission, reflect the value of the Richmond Allotments to the borough as a whole and foster more interaction between BRAG members by bringing the various sites together for a collaborative project.

We produced an award winning garden, built closer ties between the sites that participated and had the opportunity to tell visitors about BRAG and what we do. Eventually, of the 23 sites, we had involvement from Queens Road, Manor Road, Sixth Cross, Old Palace Lane, Hatherop, Townmead and The Sheen Allotments (Sheen, Triangle and Priory). We were supported by Jo Rogers, the Council’s Allotment Officer, throughout.

Total Spend: £2628.61

As stated on the original Crowdfunder, the remaining funds will go towards the BRAG borough-wide seed swap and plant sale in 2026.

As a result of this project, BRAG now has a large sign of the BRAG logo and a website with the potential to become a useful tool in the local allotment community going forward. We are considering a change in our constitution to allow for future project funding through grants and charity awards. To build on the collaboration Wwe are planning further cross-site events in the coming year and we have our first trophy in the BRAG trophy cabinet.
